11 Year Old Saves Mother's Life

SYNOPSIS:

On 04/12/13 at about 1504 hr Richland PD Officers were dispatched to 160 Van Giesen for a report of a 33 year old female unconscious and not breathing.  Dispatched advised responding officers the woman's 11 year old son was giving her CPR.  Officers arrived quickly and found the boy attempting to give his mother CPR while getting instructions on the phone from dispatch.  Officers removed the boy from the room and took over CPR until Richland Fire Paramedics arrived.  Paramedics were able to get a pulse, then the woman was transported to Kadlec ER.

After further interviewing the boy, responding officers found when he arrived home from school he found his mother unconscious.  He quickly took action which included calling 911 and beginning CPR to the best of his ability, which saved his mother's life.  The boy also assisted officers in finding relevant history about his mother so she could be treated by medical personnel.
