On 8/8/14 Richland Police Units were dispatched to a report
of a male subject waving a gun around and drinking alcoholic beverages at Haney
Inn 2153 Stevens Drive. The anonymous reporting party believed that the male
was angry about something and he was yelling as he was waving the gun around. The male went into a room at the Inn.
Richland Units arrived at the scene and the subject was
identified as Thomas Bulleck a 58 year of age male. Officers attempted to call
Bulleck out of the residence but he hung up on officers. Officers at the scene
discovered that Bulleck had two children in the residence believed to be approx.
9 and 10 years of age. SWAT officers and hostage negotiators were called to the
scene.
Prior to the arrival of the SWAT team, Bulleck came out of
the residence and peacefully surrendered to officers. Bulleck was detained and
subsequently arrested for displaying a weapon apparently capable of causing
bodily harm, reckless endangerment and for obstructing a law enforcement
officer. Belleck was booked into the Benton County Jail.
A search warrant of Bulleck’s residence was completed and
officers located a realistic looking BB gun and rifle that were believed to
have been the weapons displayed.
