ARRESTED: Wallace, Dexter, E, 25 yoa, Kennewick

CHARGES: Eluding police, driving with license suspended, possession of methamphetamine, possession of stolen property, multiple felony and misdemeanor arrest warrants for arrest

SYNOPSIS:  On 12/09/12 at about 0338 hr a Richland Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a brake light out.  The vehicle failed to stop and attempted to elude the officer fleeing toward the Columbia Park Marina where the driver, Dexter Wallace, fled on foot into Columbia Point.  Two people were detained by responding officers that remained in the vehicle and officers subsequently learned the identity of Wallace.  It was learned that Wallace had a suspended driver's license and multiple warrants for his arrest.  Deputies from the Benton County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene and with containment in the area, and Pasco PD responded with a K9.  The K9 tracked Wallace about 1/2 mile into Columbia Point where he was located hiding under a tree by the river.  Wallace was taken into custody without incident.  The car was seized as evidence and a search warrant served on it.  Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was located inside the vehicle along with multiple items stolen from a Kennewick burglary.  The vehicle may also be stolen, however, that is still under investigation.  Wallace was booked into the Benton County Jail on multiple charges.
