Craigslist Stolen Property Arrests

Arrested:


Flores, Isaias V.  26 YOA Sunnyside Resident
Perales, Roberty A. 27 YOA Sunnyside Resident

Charges:

Theft 3rd Degree (Shoplift)
Trafficking Stolen Property (Felony)



On September 25, 2012 the Richland Police Street Crimes arrested Flores and Perales for Shoplifting and Trafficking the Stolen Property on Craigslist. 

Kohl’s Department store in Richland had been the victim of a shoplift the day before where an iRobot Roomba Vacuum had been stolen, Richland Police Case #12-19866.  Store Loss Prevention personnel located a Craigslist posting that appeared to be the stolen Roomba Vacuum.  The information was given to the Richland Police Street Crimes Unit (SCU).   An undercover operation was conducted and Flores and Perales met with Undercover Street Crimes Officers at the Conoco Station in Benton City where they attempted to sell the stolen iRobot vacuum.  Both subjects were then arrested.

Additional evidence was recovered from Flores’ vehicle including cellular telephones and other stolen merchandise from Wal-Mart and Kohl’s.  Both Flores and Perales were booked into the Benton County Jail on Felony charges.

The investigation is continuing as Street Crimes Officer attempt to identify owners of additional stolen property recovered in the arrest.
