Subject Arrested for DUI, Operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device and driving on a license suspended in the 1st degree after a vehicle crash at Howard Amon Park

Arrested: Gary Ross Menefee 4/25/56




Charges: DUI, DWLS 1st degree, operating a vehicle with no ignition interlock device



Synopsis: Richland Police were dispatched to Howard Amon Park near Newton Street on 6/2/12 at approx. 1915 hrs. on a report of a crash. Witnesses observed a vehicle accelerate on Amon Park Drive just north of Newton Street and crash into several cement barriers that prevented vehicles from driving onto the grass at the park. Several barriers were destroyed and the vehicle got stuck on the damaged barriers.



Officers contacted Gary Ross Menefee who was the driver of the vehicle. Menefee’s was eventually arrested for driving under the influence, driving with a license suspended in the 1st degree and for operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device as required.



Although there were several people in the park at the time of the crash, the barriers prevented the vehicle from getting onto the grass and no one was injured. Menefee was booked into the Benton County Jail.
