Arrested: Travis, Dennis 27 year old Benton City

Crime: Residential Burglary, Assault 2nd
Degree and Unlawful Imprisonment
On Wednesday August 12th 2015 at about 1702 hours
(5:02 PM) Richland Police Officers responded to the 1700 block of Jadwin Ave.
regarding a disturbance. A juvenile about 13 years old called 911 and reported
that a male just took their mother. Further investigation revealed the victim,
a 31 year old female, had been assaulted by the victims Ex-boyfriend Dennis
Travis and then forced into a car. Travis then left with the victim. Further
witnesses called 911 as officers responded and provide a description of Travis
and his vehicle.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office assisted in locating
Travis and the victim. Both were located in a field near North Fox Drive and
Ruppert Rd. in Benton City. The victim was reunited with family. Travis was
arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail on the above listed
charges. Members of the Richland Police Department Investigations
Division were called to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
